Accumulation
Electrical charges accumulate in storm clouds, creating high tension between sky and ground.
Trigger
A discharge channel called a "tracer" descends toward the ground, initiating connection with an opposite charge on the ground.
Impact
When contact is established, an intense discharge occurs: this is the lightning, releasing up to one billion volts.
Damage
